I am beginning my 2^nd year here at the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA). I grew up in Salinas, a small Mexican farming community in central California. However, I came to southern California to attend UC Irvine. I graduated from UCI a little over one year ago; but, it was while I was at UCI that the Lord found me. I was in the midst of fighting for the social movement, particularly Chicano rights and rights for the large underclass in the United States. Through two quiet students, I came to know the Lord in a way that had never been introduced to me: as the One who came to free all the captives who are oppressed (Luke 4:18). Needless to say, my view was slowly and radically forever changed. Later, as I was brought to know Him more and more, I saw even more: that He is One who, as the Bridegroom, is trying to gain us as His Bride. What love is this?

So, after college I made the decision to come here to the FTTA. Now let me admit that just recently it hit me, as I was continuing in a daily matter, in brushing my teeth, that this FTTA has been the best decision of my life! What a striking thought! I went completely through college and have now, finally, reached a point where I've realized that my life is full of meaning and satisfaction! What worth, to be in a place to pursue the interests of the Lord (Philippians 3:12). What is higher than this? Yes, I could have immediately pursued a career concentrating on studying the human body, but that is only the outer layer of man. Actually, how much better to concentrate on man's spirit, man's link to God (Proverbs 20:27; Job 32:8; John 4:24). I have no other words to say except that I have been so attracted to this One, to our Lord Jesus Christ. He is so sweet! He is really the only One who is fully able to meet all of our needs, not by my concepts of blessing but by His. I have found that all I need, actually, all I want, is His presence, to just remain in His presence. Praise Him, that He led me here to the FTTA.
